Prague explorer's guide
Best bars in Prague
Prague is known for its bustling nightlife, unique drinking culture and beer-origin roots. With many bars to pick from it’s hard to decide which one is the best, especially if you are only here for a couple of days and you want to make the most out of your time there. That is why we have decided to share with you our recommendations for the best bars in Prague.
Anonymous Shrink’s Office – speakeasy bar
A speakeasy bar, where you pick your brink based on coloured brain scans that you are the most drawn to. You have no idea what you will get but the drink is supposed to match your personality. This place can get really crowded, especially during weekends, so making the reservation ahead is recommended.Vzorkovna Dog bar
A bar with multiple rooms with different themes. A lot of the time there is live music, sometimes you can actually also find dogs. It’s an underground hangout spot for hipsters, artists and backpackers. With its grungy atmosphere, pallet bunk bed seating, and dark maze-like interior, the place feels more like a doomsday shelter rather than a club. There’s even a room with swings chained to the ceiling. After you grab a drink at the bar make sure to walk around the place and explore each room.
AnonymouS Bar
A mysterious cocktail bar is hidden in the streets of the Old Town with an interior inspired by the movie V for Vendettas. A great place for premium cocktail lovers and seekers of unique experiences. Stylish and at the same time cosy interior, soft lights and bar where all the magic happens. One cocktail is served in a small wooden birdhouse, the other on an infusion stand. You can also experience a special show presented by the bartenders. Reservation recommended.
Prague Beer Zoo
If you want to experience something more traditional and indulge yourself in the Prague beer cellars, be sure to check out one of many bars that are a part of the Prague Beer Zoo. It’s essentially a route of nine well-known “Pilsner pubs” with animal names. The most popular one is U Hrocha (At the Hippo). You can also go to U Zlatého tygra (At the Golden Tiger), U Zlatého slona (At the Golden Elephant) or Červený jelen (Red Deer).
Terasa U Prince
Come here to enjoy a drink during sunset with a view of the Old Town Square. Be sure to ask for a seat on the terrace, not in the restaurant part of the local.
Bukowski’s Bar
Chill and laid-back vibe bar. Every Tuesday they have Ladies Night with free pitchers of sangria, and on Sundays is Seven Crown Night where you pay only 7 crowns for a small draft beer. While you are there, we also recommend to try their specials.
Výtopna Railway Restaurant
Tik-Tok famous chain of restaurants that serve drinks and delicacies to customers on an elaborate railway built inside this eatery. The train-delivered beer comes with 4 beers tasting set. When you’re ready for another round a train will come around again to pick up your empty glasses. There are over 900 meters of tracks, five draw bridges, and fourteen digitally controlled machines within the establishment.
Karlovy lázně
The biggest music club in Central Europe, where you can experience 5 different dance floors on 5 different floors. On top of that, in Karlovy lázně they offer a variety of unusual bars, such as an Ice Bar and Robotic Bar.
